Senior Python Engineer

📍 San Francisco, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week)

Compensation: $200,000–$260,000 Base + Equity

We’re partnering with a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup that’s building the developer platform powering the next generation of AI applications. They’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer to build scalable backend systems and AI infrastructure used by developers around the world.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python.
• Build APIs and infrastructure that power AI applications and LLM workflows.
• Develop distributed systems focused on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Optimize backend services for latency, throughput, and observability.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver production-ready features.
• Drive technical decisions and contribute to the overall architecture of the platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Python.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in fast-paced startup environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or LLM applications.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Experience integrating APIs from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
• Experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, or model serving.
• Previous startup experience.
