Market Data Lead | Crypto HFT | Fully Remote | Competitive Base + Bonus
Albert Bow is working with a fast-growing crypto HFT firm headquartered in Dubai and building out its proprietary trading platform across global digital asset venues. They are hiring a Market Data Lead to take ownership of the infrastructure that collects, processes, normalises, and distributes real-time market data across the business.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role sitting closely with C++ engineering, quant research, Python development, and trading operations. You will shape the long-term market data architecture while improving the speed, reliability, and scalability of systems already supporting live trading.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical direction of the firm’s market data platform.
- Design and build low-latency feed handlers, venue integrations, and internal distribution services.
- Lead connectivity work across exchanges, brokers, and other trading venues.
- Optimise networking, parsing, normalisation, serialisation, and dissemination paths.
- Reduce CPU usage, memory overhead, bandwidth requirements, and avoidable data movement.
- Improve market data monitoring across latency, throughput, dropped messages, data quality, and venue health.
- Standardise how new feeds are onboarded, replayed, tested, and supported in production.
- Prioritise delivery across new venue connectivity, platform improvements, and live production issues.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical standard of the wider C++ and market data function.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience developing high-performance systems in modern C++.
- Hands-on experience with market data, feed handlers, exchange connectivity, or latency-sensitive trading infrastructure.
- Strong networking knowledge across TCP, UDP, WebSockets, HTTP, and related protocols.
- Deep Linux knowledge, including production debugging and performance tuning.
- Experience with multithreading, inter-process communication, shared memory, or lock-free data structures.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, memory management, CPU caches, memory layout, NUMA, and NIC behaviour.
- Previous experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, or owning a major infrastructure area.
- Ability to work directly with engineering, trading, quantitative, and operations stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Market data experience within crypto, HFT, or electronic trading.
- FIX or custom binary exchange protocol experience.
- Kernel bypass technologies such as DPDK, RDMA, Solarflare, or OpenOnload.
- Order book construction, tick normalisation, data replay, or simulation experience.
- Kafka, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, or Kibana.
- Experience building global or multi-region data distribution platforms.
What’s on Offer
- Fully remote working arrangement.
- Direct ownership of the market data layer supporting live trading.
- Opportunity to define the architecture rather than simply maintain an inherited platform.
- Close collaboration with trading and engineering leadership.
- Flat structure with significant technical influence and a clear path to becoming a key leader within the trading infrastructure team.
