Controls Solutions Lead

Albert Bow are working with an exciting RegTech business specialising in regulatory intelligence, risk and controls technology, as they continue to grow their presence across major financial institutions.

We’re looking for an AI Controls Solutions Lead to join their growing team and play a key role in delivering a new controls technology solution to a major global financial institution.

This is a great opportunity for someone coming directly from a banking controls environment, particularly someone with experience across 1LoD or 2LoD, who wants to move into a technology-focused role without losing the strong regulatory and controls element of their background.

The Role

You’ll sit at the intersection of controls, financial services, technology and client delivery, acting as a subject matter expert throughout the implementation of the platform.

You’ll work closely with project, implementation and product teams while becoming a key point of contact for the client around their controls environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading controls-focused workstreams throughout client implementations
• Acting as the Controls SME, supporting client queries, reviewing outputs and ensuring implementations meet business requirements
• Working with stakeholders across Business Controls, Operational Risk, Compliance, Technology and Operations
• Supporting workshops, demonstrations, implementation planning and UAT
• Understanding client control inventories, taxonomies, mappings and gaps and translating these into practical technology requirements
• Identifying control gaps, edge cases and opportunities to improve the product
• Feeding client requirements and implementation learnings back into the Product team
• Supporting the development of implementation methodologies, documentation and best-practice processes
• Managing your own workstreams while escalating risks, blockers and dependencies appropriately

What we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in people with:

• 5–7 years’ experience within a financial institution, ideally a Tier-1 bank
• Background in a 1LoD or 2LoD controls function
• Strong understanding of control frameworks, control inventories, control mapping and gap assessments
• Experience with RCSA, issue management, risk/control taxonomies or regulatory remediation
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing or assessing controls within a banking environment
• Experience working alongside Risk, Compliance, Technology and Operations
• Exposure to GRC platforms, workflow technology, data validation, requirements mapping or UAT
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• The ability to take complex controls requirements and turn them into clear, practical actions
• Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders and clients
• A genuine interest in RegTech, AI and technology-enabled controls
